The Mantaux TB test to prove that they have never had Tuberculosis or that they are not a carrier of it. TB is really easy to spread from human to human.

New employees and volunteers do not need a TB skin test if they have written proof from a medical professsional of a negative Mantoux TB test in the twelve months prior to you hiring them, a previously positive Mantoux TB test with documented proof of treatment or a negative chest x-ray, or medication therapy to treat TB. Staff and volunteers must be re-tested for TB when you are notified that any of the staff or volunteers have been exposed to TB. They must comply with the direction of the local health jurisdiction.

All new employees must be tested for Tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is a serious contagious respiratory infection. Given that children's bodies are still developing and their immune systems are not as strong as an adults it could be extremely harmful to them.

TB tests are required because of how contagious they are, especially towards children who have a weaker immune system than adults. TB is a contagious disease that affects the lungs and respiratory system.

TB testing is required because it is contagious and as children are young, their immune systems are not as strong as when they become adults so its important that staff are negative for TB before they begin working with children.

A mandatory TB or tuberculosis test is required prior to starting work in child care. Your test must be negative because it is a respiratory contagious infection.
